Community well-being is something few would argue is a necessity. A large corporation was aware of the benefits of reaching out to help. They wanted to increase employee morale, a sense of team, and to make a difference. They came to Rave Reviews for an organized, creative way to reach out at one time to as many people in need as possible. The result was increased community and social well-being and a happier holiday for everyone involved.

​Time was running out–several people dashed over to finish assembling the remaining shiny bikes. Last minute touches were made to the beautifully adorned trees. The last of the baskets, filled with some essentials for apartment living, were completed. Warm, soft neck scarves, gloves, and blankets had been made and wrapped up in white, green, red, and gold curling ribbon. Each gift included cheerful good wishes handwritten on holiday tags.

The volunteers finished the bikes just in time. All that was left was to load everything on to the big trucks that would deliver these holiday treasures to their eager, grateful recipients–children, teens, and adults who were in need.

As the trucks pulled away, the company employees, the Rave Reviews’ team, and the representatives from a variety of local charities, worked together to clean up the last remnants of the communal effort that had just taken place. Rave Reviews had brought together a ballroom full of caring people to create a little holiday magic for unknown, disadvantaged strangers. A palpable sense of community well-being was in the air.

This corporation understood that to run a business in isolation is a loss for the community as well as the company. Gallup studies confirm that nearly 9 in 10 people surveyed experienced elevated morale from having done good things for others. When employee morale grows so does productivity. Best of all, while companies experience substantial benefits from participation in community well-being, the world also becomes a little bit better place.
